Cassie ran like a warrior

Today was the first annual run like a warrior holiday 5K run. Cassie placed 2nd in the 14 and under age group. She was beatenonly by one of her male cross country team mates.

Brendan and UIL Art Smart

Thursday Brendan went to Harper for Art Smart. He doesn't know how he did but he feels that he did good. I'm sure if he had placed we would have known about it. We will be signing him up for basketball with the YMCA soon. He might also get to play for west Kerr county as long as they don't over lap.

Cassie

Cass is also doing UIL and it just so happens to be the same thing- Art Smart. Basketball is going well they won their first game last Monday. They have a bye this Monday and will play again on Thursday. If anyone is interested in going to a game in their area you can go to www.ingramisd.net.

Brendan, football and UIL

His team lost the in the first round of the playoffs. 28-0. He really liked playing so I think this is something he is going to stick with. He is now in UIL Art Smart. He has to learn 40 paintings and their painters. He competition will be some time next semester.

Well Brendan's team lost today 15-0. Playoffs are next weekend. As soon as we find out about basketball we will be signing him up for that.

Cassie and crosscountry

Cross country is now over for Cass and she placed 12Th in district at Junction. She really loves it so she plans to keep up with it. She will be starting basketball next week.

Brendan and football

I know that I've not said much about Brendan's team lately. I've been kind of busy running him and his sister around with practices and UIL and stuff. So with that said his team as either lost or tied their games. The good thing is they have only lost by one point every time they have lost. Even with losing or tying their games he loves playing football. He is playing both offense and defense and mostly on the line, which he prefers.

Football

The Ingram Warriors won again! This was the first time since 2003 that they had won Homecoming. Also the Warrior Band received the game ball for flustering the javelinas quarterback. Who threw and interception as the band was playing.
Brendan's team the Warriors were the only ones to lose this weekend. The 7Th, 8Th, JV, and Varsity all won. the score was 7-6. We did intercept a pass on forth down and ran it back for a touchdown but because of a penalty it didn't count. All in all it was a great first game. Brendan really likes to play and he loves to be on the defensive line. No glory position for him .He like the job of the unsung hero. Of course he needs grow some but if he sticks with football I think he will be really good at it. His coach is impressed with how well he is doing as a first timer.

Cassie & Brendan

Cassie is doing well in band. She is shadowing someone on the field when marching. Yesterday she ran in her first cross country race it was in Llano. She can in 29Th out of 83. She ran 2 miles in 17 min. Not bad for someone who has only trained for 2 weeks and fell at the starting line. Homecoming is this week and she has to decide if she is going to ride on the cheer float or march in the band.
Brendan is doing great in fifth grade and since we moved he walks to and from school (with an adult.).If I can't one of the big guys or Miguel will take him and I'm always there to pick him up. His football games start on Saturday. Time and place will follow.

Brendan's football

Well, Brendan started practice yesterday. Only one problem Miguel forgot to tell me I needed to go to the YMCA office and get his pads. He still got to participate just no tackling. We got all his stuff today and he has another practice tomorrow. He will practice two days a week till the they start playing then it goes down to once a week. His games start Sept.18. He was a bit unsure at the first practice but I think it was because he didn't have pads. He seems to be really excited now though after we got his pads he didn't or should I say hasn't taken them off.

Warrior Football

If you are not aware by now Ingram Tom Moore Warriors won their first game in over four years. After a 40 plus game loosing streak the Warriors beat the Natalia Mustangs 8-7 in one of the best games I've ever been to. If you want to read the article in the Kerrville Daily Time the site is www.dailytimes.com. When time ran out the stands were emptied and the field was full of people hugging, crying and giving well deserved pats to the back of the team that broke the loosing streak. If you didn't know better you would have thought we won state not the first game of the season. Next week we play Randolph at Randolph so if you can make it go route them on to another victory and while you're at it you can see Cassie and the Warriors band.

School & Moving

School starts Monday for Cassie and Brendan.(HEY!!!) (Just kidding.) We are also in the process of moving. We are moving down off of Ingram Hill to 210 fifth street. That will put us only half a mile from the elementary school so the plan is that when I get off of work I will go home and walk Brendan to school and then I will be up in time to go get him in the afternoon. Cassie will still be riding the bus and she will catch it with her friends on fourth. Cheerleading is going well we will have a community pep rally this friday and she will have to be in cheer outfit with the band just the way she wants it. Meet the teacher night is tomorrow for Brendan the teacher he wanted has moved up to the sixth grade. Mrs. Boyland had been Cassie's teacher in fifth grade.

Brendan

Brendan is looking forward to going back to school as well. He will be going into the fifth grade. Some things have changed around Ingram Elementary School over the summer. The sixth grade has moved or stayed at the elementary school. This is due to the fact enrollment is down and the elementary has empty classrooms. This will also allow the district to sell some temporary buildings in hopes of paying for more permanent ones. There also have been some faculty changes so we don't have any idea who any of his teachers will be. Meet the teacher night will be Thursday Aug.19 and that when we will find out.

Dream Kamp

Cassie is off at Dream Kamp for the second year in a row. This is the last time she will be able to go as a camper. She will be able to go back as a councilor after she enters high school and of course that is something she wants to do. She will be at band day camp for the next two weeks with a two day cheer camp thrown in there as well. School starts back on Aug.23 so football scores will soon follow.

Softball

Cassie's all-star softball season ended on Monday. Final score was 18-7. She was last at bat and on strike three the catcher dropped the ball so she ran to first. She made it there safely but the girl on first who was headed for second got tagged out. They may go play in San Angelo at a midnight madness tournament but we'll have to see when it is because of camps(dream, band, cheerleading and volleyball).

Softball update

Cassie team finally finished their game on Saturday. It had been called due to rain Wednesday and cancelled Thursday and Friday. They started the fourth inning with the score 4-2. They were visitors and they scored 1 at bat. Bottom of the fourth score 11-3. So I called Cheryl and said it' all over but the crying. Top of the fifth and we stared scoring and by the bottom of the fifth we were up 12-11. Needless to say I called her back and said "I lied. We're still in it." Bottom of the fifth and their opponents didn't score. Top of the sixth and we scored 5 more runs(score17-11). The bottom of the sixth and last bats their opponents scored...2. Final score 17-13 and they play again on Monday weather permitting of course. This is a double elimination tournament so it's win or go home from now on due to the fact they lost their first game.

Cassie's softball game has been postponed again due to rain. She will play Saturday at 3:00pm weather permitting of course.

Update rain & softball

Game was cancelled once again but we weren't in Fredericksburg(Thank goodness!). They will play tomorrow at 5:00pm. If there is no rain of course.

Rain & Softball

Cassie and I have been traveling to Fredericksburg every day this week for her softball tournament. Monday the game was rained out so she played Tuesday. They lost that game 10-1. That meant they had to play Wednesday. They played half the game and were losing 4-2 when it was called again due to rain s0... we have to go back again today so they can finish the game. If they win today they wont have to play till Saturday. If the lose then they are out.
She got a good hit that brought in one of her team mates. She would have been safe if she would have run through first. She also got an out when she was playing second base the catcher threw her the ball and she tag out the runner. Will post final score tomorrow with the news about the weekend so you can see her play if they win.

All-Stars

Tonight at 7:00pm in Fredricksburg Cassie's team the Mix will play their first game. If they win they wont play again till Thursday, but if they lose they will play tomorrow. will update tomorrow with the score and the date and time of their next game.

All-stars

Cassie tried out for the Ingram/Kerrville all-star softball team on Tuesday and she made the team. She will have practice three days a week and batting practice once a week for the next two weeks and then the all-star tournament will be the following two weeks. All games will be in Fredricksburg at 7:00 pm. Thier first game is on monday June 28.

Matt's Graduation

Well it doesn't look like Cassie is going to play at the graduation. The middle school hasn't gotten the music so they wont be playing. It would have made it more special if she could have but that wont take away from the fact that is all about Matt that day.

Softball

Cassie's softball season is over. Tuesday was their last game and they...WON!!! It was the second game that they won all season. Her coach had told them just to go out and have fun and that's just what they did. They were going to have one more game next Friday but with graduation and everything coach tried to reschedule but couldn't so they had to cancel it. Now I don't know when I'm going to get her pictures.

Graduation

Matt didn't order invitations to graduation so... Here it goes The class of 2010 will be graduating at Warrior stadium at 8:00 pm on Friday May 28,2010. All are invited to attend. And as a side note Cassie will be preforming with the band.

Matthew

Matt also had his sports banquet last night. He was recognized for football and cross country. He also received the big heart award for football because and I quote "For never backing down and willing to go up against guys a lot bigger than him." Most of the guys he lined up against were anywhere from 50 to almost 100 lbs. heavier than he was. As the saying goes it's not the size of the dog in the fight it's ths size of the fight in the dog.

Cassie

Cassie is doing great at softball. Her team won last night for the first time. She says she hit 2 home runs and scored 1 more time. she also got to play second base and caught a pop fly.
Also for anyone who doesn't already know she is going to be a seventh grade cheerleader. If anyone want to help sponsor her please let me know any and all denominations are welcome. I'm not sure how but they will recognize all sponsors in some way.

Matthew

Matt went on his senior trip this past weekend. The twenty members of the class of 2010 who went; went to Fiesta Texas, tubing down the Guadalupe in New Braunsfels, bowling, they ate at the Grist Mill and took an antique photo.

Little Olympics

Cassie and Brendan both will be in the little Olympics on May 6, 2010. She will be running in the 4x50 and 8 person relays. Brendan will be running in the 4 person relay. I don't know the distance only the number of people so that is why they are named that. I will post result in the next few days.

Softball

Cassie team "The Lighting" lost their second game last week 24-10. She didn't get to bat so at the next game she will be leading off. We have been at the batting cages for the last three nights. We have also been practicing her throwing and catching since she hasn't had a practice since the last game. That partly has to do with the rain. As far as her batting goes she can hit from both sides of the plate and she can get the ball out of the in- field. It is her throwing and catching that concerns me. As long as she keeps practcies she will do fine.

Softball

Softball season is now in full swing. They lost their first game to the Comfort 1 team 19-11. Their next game is tomorrow in comfort. They will be playing the Comfort 2 team.

Basketball

Basketball season is now over. Brendan's team came in third place. Cassie's team lost a heart breaker in the championship game 23-20. So they got second place.

Brendan and basketball

Brendan's basketball season will be ending this weekend. There will be a tournament to determine team placement. His team has only won one game but they did have one of the best games of the season last night. Final score was 10 to 6. That has been the closest game the Ravens have had. Most games they have lost by at least 10 points. The best thing is they are still having fun.
Cassie's team has one more game Friday and then their tournament will be next weekend. Her team has won every game. It was touch and go on the last one; they didn't take the lead and keep it until the last few minutes of the game. They had won most of their game by at least 20 points. And FYI the coaches did their best to keep the teams as even as possible. It just seemed that her team jelled better than the rest.

Basketball

Cassie's team is still undefeated and Brendan's still has only won one game. Brendan is still loving it and they are getting better they held the last team to only 11 points and they scored 5. So things are looking better. Cassie's team has won almost every game by at least 20 points. If these girls stay together at Ingram we will have one heck of a team in about 5 years.

Cassie has decided to play softball in preparation for next year and athletics. She will also be testing for PAP courses for next year some time next week.

Basketball

Well the basketball season is in full swing. Brendan has been playing on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Cassie has been playing Fridays and Saturdays. Brendan's team has lost every game and Cassie's team has won every game. Scores are as follows Brendan 10-6, 16-8,24-0. Cassie's scores are 19-7, 28-8, 23-12. They both have had a bye that is why there are only three scores. Cassie team will play again tomorrow.

Warrior Football

I know we have at least six month until football season starts but I just wanted to let every know that Ingram has finally dropped back down to 2A. So if the football Gods are smiling on us we will win at least one game next year. Of course Matt wont be playing any more but Cass will be in the band so I will still be going to the games and of course Brendan is not far from being able to play as well.

Basketball

Cass and Brendan have finally started practice. We still don't know when they will start to play but we hope it will be soon. Cassie want to play softball too but Miguel says one sport at a time at least until she starts playing for the school. I don't think they will over lap but we will have to see. Their team names are Cass - the silverstars and Brendan -the ravens. I will let you know the scores of the games as soon as I can afterwards.

Cassie,Brendan and Basketball

Cassie and Brendan will be playing Basketball this year their first game will be on the 15th. I'm hoping to have some video of the games when they start. I will make sure that I at the very least give a run down of the games. Also Cassie will be performing at half time of the last varsity girls home game along with the rest of the sixth grade girls.

Brendan

Now it's time for Brendan to shine. He took MAP tests last week and he improved all of his test scores from the beginning of the school by at least 4 points. He hit all of his goals except one and that one he missed by 1 point. Now if he can just make the pride team. For those of you don't know that has to do with conduct. That is not saying he has a discipline problem it's more like a self discipline problem in that he has to remember to get his dad or I to sign his agenda everyday but we have been working on that. He will be starting Basketball in the next couple of weeks. His sister too but this is about him right now so more about her later.

Cassie

I know that some times this seems more like Cassie's blog than the rest of the kids but she does like to be in the spot light so what can you do. So now that being said here is the update... she is now a safety patrol at school. she had to interview for it and everything. Also she is going to be in three UIL competitions later on this month -music memory,math, and dictionary skills.
